Descent Into Chaos

Posted: 12 Jun 2014 04:25 PM PDT

Bulls never saw this correction coming during what had been a newsless week. But suddenly all hell has broken loose and all of it shocks markets and the citizenry alike. As Al Qaeda advanced and surrounded the Iraqi oil fields you have to wonder how this could happen so quickly given all the CIA snooping going on. This doesn't take into consideration the sudden Russian attacks on Ukraine, the craziness that will be the World Cup in Brazil, serial kidnappings in Nigeria and Taliban attacks with

Obamacare Obamination: This One-Act Tragedy Is Nothing But a Bill of Goods

Shah Gilani writes: I’ve never before written anything about the Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as Obamacare. That’s because I didn’t want to jump into the debate on one side or the other before letting some dust settle and seeing what there really is to see. Unemployment and A Tale of Two Financial Crises

D.W. MacKenzie writes: The latest GDP report indicates a slowdown in overall economic activity in the first quarter of 2014. Apologists for the Obama administration attribute the recent slowdown to unusual winter weather. Some have even suggested that the first-quarter slowdown sets the stage for rapid economic growth for the remainder of this year: there is pent up demand and untapped potential productivity, they claim. The Bank's latest forecasts, issued Tuesday 10 June, used the terms “bumpy start to 2014”, nearly 6 months through the year, and talked about “cold winter conditions” slowing growth in “several countries”. Not in Europe. It had one of its warmest winters for decades – an

USD/CAD Seeks Corrective Pullback

USDCAD Daily On USDCAD we are tracking a deep but still corrective price action from start of the year. We are looking at wave 4) that is part of an big impulsive rally from a weekly chart. Usually fourth waves will find a support around 28 or 50\% retracement level compared to wave 3) which in our case comes in around 1.0730. As such, we see pair now trading down within final stages of a corrective retracement, so we need to be aware of a bullish reversal, probably at the start of June.
