Court rejects most investor claims against BNY Mellon
A U.S. appeals court has rejected nearly all claims in an investor lawsuit against Bank of New York Mellon. The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said the bank, as trustee for mortgage-backed securities in an $8.5 billion settlement by Bank of America, did not have to confront claims from 25 of 26 trusts that investors said carried risky mortgage loans from Countrywide Financial acquired in 2008 by Bank of America.
